CIS Office Assistant Volunteer
Job Description
Communities in Schools is a stay-in-school program which connects at-risk youth to needed community resources. As a volunteer for CIS of the Permian Basin you will be an integral part of an organization that helps at-risk students stay-in-school and succeed. This position involves working on school campuses with CIS Campus Coordinators in a creative position to help them as they need it.
Volunteer responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with paperwork, filing documentation, improving office organization
- Keep office appealing, updated, decorated, and inviting
- Researching programs, resources, organizations, and opportunities
- Assisting with program implementation such as helping develop and put on a fund raiser or parent meeting
- Office communications such as answering phones, writing thank you notes, speaking with parents, or sending cards of encouragement or congratulations to students
- Keeping up with mentor time sheets and reports
- This position is designed as a support to the campus coordinator so the coordinator will most likely specify exactly what needs to be done.
Eligibility requirements:
- Must be able to pass a school background check
- Must be able to pass a CIS background check
- Must be able to commit a minimum of two hours per week to the program, preferably on a regular basis.
